The Lean Journey is the process of introducing Lean Thinking processes, and a Lean Thinking culture, to your company. It is also the journey that you will take for your own development, learning about Lean, and beginning to work with process improvement initiatives.
The Training Within Industry Service (TWI) was established in 1940 during World War II to increase production output to support the Allied Forces war effort. The purpose of the TWI program was stated in its overview bulletin, to assist war production industries to meet their manpower needs by training within industry each worker to make the fullest use of his best skill up to the maximum of his individual ability, thereby enabling production to keep pace with war demands. Training Within Industry consisted of 4 courses that an organization would implement to increase production, reduce training time, better utilize manpower, reduce scrap, improve employee relations, and create better training programs.
