Experience

Lean Enterprise  Trainer

  • Developed training programs, mentored & coached front line and senior leadership on “Toyota Production System (TPS) and Management Standardized Work.”
  • Presented the material in an interactive manner, utilizing power point and engaging the participants in value added work exercises.
  • Assisted client’s at all organizational levels in both Canada and US integrating Lean, (TPS) principles in their organizations including adapting to changing client needs.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company (TMMC)

  • Hired as one of the original 25, and spent time in Japan learning the Toyota Production System (TPS) before the plant opened.
  • Quickly promoted from Team Leader and then to Group Leader based on team-oriented management skills and strong interpersonal expertise.
  • Involved extensively in all systems development from the beginning, transferring the knowledge to team members.
  • Certified as a Master Trainer by Japanese teacher Kato Led a team of up to 42 team members in both the paint and plastics departments within the manufacturing operation consistently achieving production targets
  • Coached and mentored a number of employees some of whom advanced to be team leaders and managers including leading paint shop Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) Group.
  • Achieved the quality targets and identified ways to enhance quality on the line
  • Created a waste reduction program, which reduced scrap in the Plastics department
  • Effectively led the team members achieving a safety record without a lost day due to an accident.
  • Consistently met the Key Production Indicators (KPIs) in the manufacturing operation
  • Championed training within the plant and developed a number of training programs that equipped employees with the tools and skills to grow at Toyota and improve productivity.
  • Delivered a range of training courses which included: The Toyota Way, Problem Solving, Toyota Production System, Visual Management Systems, Job Instruction, Kaizen Circle Leadership, Kanban, Train the Trainer and Leadership Standardized Work.
  • Created systems that improved workflow in the Service Parts area which enhanced workflow and minimized floor utilization.

  • Numerous business related courses including courses from Development Dimensions International (DDI) on interacting effectively with others, Kaizen, TPS, Visual management Systems, Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Hoshin Kanri (A3), Train-the-Trainer

  • Achieved recognition and certification as a “Master Trainer” under Mr. Isao Kato from Japan.
